- Initial Pairing / 1st time connection with HF8R: Before using the remote control with the HF8R for the first time, the remote has to be initially paired with HF8R via the app. Connect the smartphone/Ledlenser Connect App with the lamp. Select “remote control” in the main menu. Click on “+” in the remote control sub-menu. Now the App scans for any available remotes for 10 seconds. Within the 10 seconds scanning procedure, click on any button of the remote control. The desired remote control should now appear in the app. Now, click on “Add” to constantly pair it with the HF8R. The remote control is now paired with the HF8R and appears in the remote control list. As long as a paired remote control is not manually removed from the list, the HF8R can now always be operated with the remote control without pairing it again.

- The remote control has 3 switches: “(((”; ” ⃝”; “))”
- The “ ⃝” remote control switch reflects the power switch of the HF8R and the following actions can be performed: Turning on, turning off, cycling through light functions, activate special function (double click). Functionalities that are activated by keeping the button pushed cannot be activated via the remote control, including switching between white light mode and red light/RGB mode, transport lock and factory reset.
- “(((” and “))” remote control switches can be used to cycle through different focus levels of the HF8R (not available in Adaptive Light Beam, Blink, red light, green light and blue light).

- Precondition for operations with HF8R:
- Remote control must be in range (maximum 10 meters in open spaces)
- Remote control battery must be sufficiently charged.
- HF8R Connect is not in Transportation Lock.
- HF8R Bluetooth function active or in standby:
- Bluetooth function of HF8R active: When the HF8R is turned on, the HF8R function is active. The lamp can be directly controlled via the remote control. All functions are available with quick reaction time, incl. turning off by keeping pushed “ ⃝” switch.
- Bluetooth function of HF8R in standby: after turning off the lamp and disconnection from smartphone, the Bluetooth function of the HF8R is set to standby mode for 1 hour. Within this period the lamp can be turned on by keep pushing “ ⃝” switch.
- Detailed HF8R Bluetooth function turn on/off information: Each time the lamp is turned on via the physical main in any light function, Bluetooth function of HF8R Connect is activated. The lamp now remains ready for connection with the smartphone via Ledlenser Connect App or for operation via remote control as long as the lamp is on. When the lamp is turned off via app, switch or remote control and disconnected from smartphone, the Bluetooth function will be set to standby mode for 1 hour. In standby mode the lamp can be reconnected with smartphone or be turned on by remote control without using any switch of the lamp again. When no connection with the lamp has been established within the 1 hour standby time period, Bluetooth function will be deactivated and the lamp will not be available for connection or remote control operation anymore. For reconnection or remote control operation the lamp has to be turned on via physical power switch again.
