All area lights (except AF2R Work) can be controlled remotely via the Ledlenser Connect app using the separately available controller for area lights (Art. 503018). The controller can only be used in mains operation and is installed between the power supply unit and the spotlight via a proprietary cable connection.
How do the operating elements of the controller for area lights work and what can I do with them?
The control buttons:
Bluetooth connection switch:
- Pressing the left button with the Bluetooth symbol initiates Bluetooth pairing between the spotlight and the Ledlenser Connect app. The connection button in the app must then be initialised for pairing.
- When ready for pairing, the blue LED on the top left of the controller flashes; once pairing is completed and the connection is active, it lights up continuously.
- If several compatible Ledlenser lights with Bluetooth function are available and within range, they will appear in a list. After selecting the desired light, click on “Connect” again. If no connection can be established, the connection is interrupted.
Central main switch:
- To switch the Area Light on and off by pressing briefly
- To select between brightness levels and color temperature (press and hold for 2 seconds to switch)
- If the control LED at the top right lights up red, the brightness can be set; if the LED is yellow, the color temperature can be set.
- Switching via controller is also possible if the controller is not connected via Bluetooth
Plus and minus switch:
- The plus and minus switch is used to set the brightness and/or color temperature
- Depending on the selected setting, the next higher or next lower level can be selected using the buttons
- Plus: Brightness / color temperature (from warm white to cold white) is increased
- Minus: Brightness / color temperature (from cold white to warm white) is reduced
The selection menu of the app:
The following menu can be called up in the app menu:

Special functions:
Memory mode:
- The Ledlenser Area Lights are equipped with a memory mode. This means that the last selected brightness and color temperature setting is automatically selected again when the light is switched on.
Timer function:
- When operated via the Ledlenser Connect app, two timers can be programmed to switch on and off automatically at a fixed time. You can also select the days of the week on which the automatic switch-on and switch-off should take place. This also works if the lamp does not currently have a Bluetooth connection. Only programming the times requires an active Bluetooth connection to the Area Light.
What are the requirements, special features and restrictions in connection with establishing and terminating the connection?
- Connection range: Up to 10 meters in open terrain.
- The app always starts with the “connection screen”. Once a connection has been established, the app switches to the main menu.
- The Bluetooth function on the smartphone or tablet must be activated.
